What Is Laser Texturing?

Laser texturing is a non-contact, digital manufacturing process that uses controlled laser ablation to remove material layer by layer, creating precise surface structures directly from CAD data.

It enables the generation of:

  • Aesthetic and decorative finishes
  • Micro- and nano-scale structures
  • High-precision markings and engravings

The process is fully programmable and suitable for complex freeform surfaces.


Core Process Principle

1. Laser Ablation

Material is removed through high-energy laser pulses. Each layer can be controlled at sub-micron precision depending on material and laser parameters.

2. Grayscale Depth Control

Surface depth is defined using 16-bit grayscale mapping:

  • Darker areas = deeper machining
  • Lighter areas = shallower machining
  • Up to 65,000+ depth levels for ultra-precise surface control

This enables smooth transitions and complex 3D textures.

3. Multi-Mode Surface Processing
